Orchard Park, N.Y. – Playing its second game in as many days, the College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Lacrosse team picked up a 10-9 road win at Hilbert on Sunday afternoon. Four different Dolphins scored two goals in the game and sophomore goalie Kyle Kalibat (Oceanside, N.Y.) made 10 saves in the win.
 
In a tightly contested game, Hilbert opened the scoring just 21 seconds into the tilt on the first of five goals from John Pingitore. From there the Dolphins scored the last three goals of the first 30 minutes.
 
Matt Barlow (Bronx, N.Y.) evened the score at 1-1 with his first of the game with 5:29 to play in the first quarter and Matt Desimone (Congers, N.Y.) pushed the Dolphins in front 2-1 with his first of the afternoon just over a minute later.
 
Mount Saint Vincent's Rowan Frederick (Brooklyn, N.Y.) would get the Dolphins in front by two scores in the opening minute of the second period, with the marker sending the Mount to the intermission with a 3-1 lead.
 
After closing the first half with three straight goals, Mount Saint Vincent continued the run with the first three goals of the third quarter. Dan Cohen (Ardsley, N.Y.) scored a man down goal with just under nine minutes to play in the period and added his second straight tally with just over three minutes to play in the third.
 
With the two teams combining for just three goals over the first two periods, they erupted for nine in the third. With the Dolphins leading 6-1 after their six goal run, Hilbert ripped off the next five goals to tie the score, before Bruce Pappas (Montrose, N.Y.) pushed the Mount in front 7-6 with 14 seconds left in the third.
 
Mount Saint Vincent and Hilbert would split the six goals scored in the fourth quarter, but the Dolphins tallied three of the first four to pull in front 10-7 after back-to-back goals from Pappas and Pat McEnaney (New York, N.Y.). Hilbert would score twice inside the final four minutes, but could not get the equalizer.
 
Ajao led Mount Saint Vincent with four assists in the game and now leads the team with eight helpers and is second on the squad with 15 points. He also picked up a pair of groundballs in the game.
 
Cohen, Pappas, Desimone and Barlow all found the back of the cage twice for Mount Saint Vincent with Barlow also collecting an assist. Frank Maddaloni (Bronx, N.Y.) led the team with six groundballs and a pair of caused turnovers.
 
Pingintore paced Hilbert with five goals and Doug Takac added two points on a goal and an assist. Sean Purtill picked up five groundballs to lead the Hawks and Nick Kieffer went 14-for-21 in face-offs.
 
Kalibat finished the game with double-figures in saves for the fifth time in as many games in 2012 and also collected a groundball. Tyler Catalfano stopped nine shots for the Hawks.
 
For the game, Hilbert outshot Mount Saint Vincent 36-29 and also posted a 45-37 edge in groundballs. The Hawks also won 15 of the 23 face-offs take, with Derek Wilson (Brooklyn, N.Y.) leading the Dolphins by going 4-for-8.
 
Sunday's win gives Mount Saint Vincent three victories in its last four outings and pushes it to 3-2 overall on the season. The Dolphins will continue a nine game rod swing on March 14 when they take on Thomas. Face-off in Waterville, Maine is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
