Dolphins Drop Skyline Finale To Golden Eagles

Yonkers, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Soccer team closed out the 2012 league schedule on Saturday evening with a 4-0 lose to visiting St. Joseph's-L.I. Senior Sarah Colletti (Mansfield, Mass.) and freshman Meghan Siller (Staten Island, N.Y.) accounted for half of the Dolphins' shots in the game.
 
The Golden Eagles did all of their scoring in the first half, scoring four times in the first 33 minutes of play. Jessica Cordano got the game winning goal in the sixth minute when she finished off a pass from Kathleen Borrelli at the 5:35 mark of the contest.
 
Jamianne Eden would increase the visitors' lead by a goal off an assist from Michelle Barclay at 19:22 before Cordano tallied her second of the game six minutes later. Cordano finished off Barclay's second straight assist to push St. Joseph's in front 3-0.
 
Saturday evening's scoring would be closed out when reserve Sarah Hansen tallied in the 33rd minute to give the Golden Eagles a commanding 4-0 advantage. Jaclyn Baratelli earned the assist on the goal.
 
Mount Saint Vincent would have several chances in the second half on Saturday to cut into the deficit. Siller had an attempt from the top of the box and Colletti served a free-kick on goal, but St. Joseph's keeper Kayla Flowers stopped all six Mount Saint Vincent attempts on target to earn the shutout victory.
 
The Dolphins used two goalkeepers, with Blair Butler (Hicksville, N.Y.) making three saves in the first 45 minutes. Marni O'Shea (White Plains, N.Y.) came on in the second half to make four stops for the Mount.
 
Overall on the night, St. Joseph's doubled up Mount Saint Vincent in shots 16-8, while corner kicks in the match were even at 2-2. Fouls in the contest were whistled 5-3 against the Dolphins.
 
Saturday's result drops Mount Saint Vincent back below .500 overall on the season at 7-8 and to 2-6 in Skyline Conference play. The Dolphins will close out the regular season on Wednesday evening when they play non-conference opponent Keystone. Kick-off at Tibbetts Brook Park is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
