Dolphins Earn Back To Back Skyline Conference Regular Season Championship

Riverdale, NY - For the second straight season, the Dolphins are your Skyline Conference regular season champions.

The University of Mount Saint Vincent entered Tuesday one win away from being the Skyline's number one seed in two straight campaigns. It was all but a formality, as UMSV dominated Purchase College in the regular season finale by the score of 7-0 to earn the one seed in the conference tournament.

The Dolphins finish their season with a 12-3-2 overall record and a 9-1-1 mark in conference play.

Junior forward Eva Puentes made her final mark in the Skyline's Offensive Player of the Year conversation. The Garwood, New Jersey native scored two more goals against the Panthers giving her 15 on the season, good for the best number in the conference. Ariana Hernandez put her name into the Rookie of the Year conversation, adding a goal and an assist to her season totals, now having three and nine, respectively.

Freshman Michelle Zuniga scored twice, both in the second half, while Cameron Cruz and Emily Legler converted shot attempts as well.

With the regular season in the rearview mirror, all eyes are on the semifinal matchup that will be played on Marillac Field next Wednesday. If the season ended tonight, Farmingdale and Sarah Lawrence would battle it out for a showdown with UMSV.
