, N.Y. The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Soccer team lost its season-high fourth straight game on Saturday night with a 3-0 loss to St. Joseph's-L.I. Junior goalie Kara McNish (Hawthorne, N.J.) totaled seven saves in the contest for the Dolphins.

 

St. Joseph's opened the scoring in the 16th minute when Elyse Tomasello sailed a ball into the top left corner from 30 yards out for the eventual game winner. The Dolphins would tighten up defensively the remainder of the half as the Eagles carried just the one goal advantage into the intermission.

 

St. Joseph's would open the game up in the second half with two goals 45 seconds apart with 15 minutes left in regulation. Ashley Demeo tallied her third goal of the season at 74:14 on a feed from Samantha Garcia and then Garcia connected on her eighth of the season at 75:29 to close out the scoring. Garcia finished the day with three points.

 

Overall in the contest, the Eagles had the advantage in shots 18-0 and took the only five corner kicks in the tilt. Fouls in the contest were whistled 5-3 against the visitors. The shutout is the eighth of the season for the Mount and fourth straight. The Dolphins have gone 370:45 without finding the back of the net.

 

The loss drops Mount Saint Vincent to 2-10 overall on the season and to 1-6 against league opponents. The Dolphins will look to get back in the win column on Tuesday when they travel to Medgar Evers for a non-conference matchup. Kick-off with the Cougars is set for 4:00 p.m.
