Yonkers, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Soccer team snapped a five match losing streak and a long goalless drought on Tuesday night with a 4-2 Skyline Conference win at Yeshiva. Sophomore Brittany Kehoe (Stony Point, N.Y.) netted a pair of goals on the night and Ashley Parise (Bayside, N.Y.) and Nicole Flores (Bathpage, N.Y.) each recorded their first career points as a Dolphin.
Kehoe opened the scoring off an assist from Flores at the 32:17 mark of the match. The goal was her fourth of the season and ended a stretch of 493:02 without a goal for the Dolphins.
After going nearly 500 minutes without a goal before Kehoe's marker, Mount Saint Vincent reeled off two more in a span of just over three minutes to carry a 3-0 lead into halftime. Parise scored her first career goal for the Dolphins at the 34:45 mark and Kehoe netted her second of the match and team leading fifth of the season at the 35:29 mark. The goal was Kehoe's second game winner of the season.
Yeshiva would cut its deficit to 3-1 in the 57th minute when Atara Kanarfogel scored off a feed from Rochelle Friedman, but two goals would be as close as the Maccabees would get the rest of the evening.
Marni O'Shea (White Plains, N.Y.) gave the Mount its three goal cushion back in the 67th minute with her second goal of the season, before Esan Hannah closed out the scoring in the 75th minute to bring the Macs to within the final 4-2 decision.
Kara McNish (Hawthorne, N.Y.) earned the win in goal for the Dolphins after making a pair of saves in 64:08 of action. Michelle Miller (Chester, Pa.) came on to play 25:52 on Tuesday and made one save. Each keeper allowed a goal on the night. Yeshiva's Julia Shrier made three stops on the night for the Maccabees.
Overall in the match, Mount Saint Vincent held the edge in shots 13-7 and in corner kicks at 10-3. Fouls were called 10-8 against the Dolphins, who were also whistled for 14 offside violations.
The win pushes Mount Saint Vincent to 3-11 overall on the season and to 2-6 against Skyline Conference opponents. The Dolphins will look to continue the momentum from Tuesday's win into Thursday's contest at NYU-POLY. Kick-off with the Blue Jays is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
