University of Mount Saint Vincent Athletics

Despite being at The Mount for only her junior and senior years, the athletic department unanimously selected Monica Lepore as a member of the 2021 Hall of Fame class. 

Monica is a true CMSV pioneer. After transferring to the College for her junior year, she immediately joined the swimming, volleyball and basketball teams. A contribution Monica made to the school that still stands to this day was her spearheading the creation of a club softball team, which eventually became a fully recognized NCAA program. She also helped create an intramural program for students who weren’t a part of the basketball team.

Monica’s leadership continued upon her graduation from The Mount and continues to this day. She received the title of Professor Emeritus after her career as an Adaptive Physical Education professor at West Chester University. Monica is also a published author, as well as a member of the National Swimming Hall of Fame. She’s used her experiences to provide athletic and lifetime sports instruction to children and adults with physical or developmental disabilities. 

Her contributions to not only CMSV but her peers is admirable on every level.
