Second Half Struggles Doom Dolphins Against USMMA

Box Score King's Point, NY - The CMSV women's lacrosse team were back on the field and were looking to return to their winning ways after losing their last contest to Manhattanville College on Wednesday. Despite battling throughout the first half of the contest, a tough second half resulted in a 19-4 loss for the Dolphins, dropping their overall record to 4-4 on the season.

Despite the result, the Dolphins remain in the thick of things in terms of the Skyline Conference postseason picture. The team currently sits in fourth place in the six-team playoff field.

The game started out on the right foot for the Dolphins, as Colleen MacNeil netted her 28th goal in just eight games less than a minute into the contest, putting CMSV up 1-0 early on. Both sides traded goals, with Ashley Teal giving her team a 2-1 advantage and MacNeil collecting another goal to make it a 3-2 game. From there, however, it was all USMMA. The Mariners went on a five goal run before Teal scored her second of the game to bring the score to 7-4. The game ended with USMMA scoring 12 straight to end the game on top.

MacNeil collected two goals and an assist, good for her team-high 53 points on the season. Teal also added a pair of goals and a helper to her stat sheet.
