Box Score Throggs Neck, NY- The CMSV women's lacrosse team traveled to Throggs Neck to take on conference foe, Maritime College. The Dolphins fell to the Mariners. 21-5.
The Dolphins started off slow allowing three consecutive goals before junior Colleen MacNeil took control and scored at the 10 minute mark. The Mariner offense responded with three more goals to end the first quarter with a 6-1 lead.
Junior Ava Starace started the second quarter looking to fire up the team as she put a goal past the Mariner goalie, but again the Mariners scored three straight to stall any momentum for CMSV. MacNeil slowed down the Mariner run with another goal at the six minute point in the second quarter, but that would be all for the Dolphins as the Mariners scored another three to end the first half, 12-3.
The second half was more of the same for the Dolphins as they found themselves down big. MacNeil scored her third goal in the fourth quarter giving her another hat trick on the season. Junior Ashley Teal got on the board for the Dolphins as well as the Dolphins looked to make a final push towards the end, but the Maritime offense proved to be too much as they defeated CMSV, 21-5.
The Dolphins have time to regroup before next week's conference matchup against Purchase College on April 1st.
