RIVERDALE, NY - On Monday May 8, the CMSV Athletic Department concluded the 2016-17 athletic year with the annual Athletics Award Banquet. The event, which honors the 14 intercollegiate varsity teams and select student workers, was held in Smith Hall.

The night was set to honor the athletic success of the student-athletes with each team awarding a Most Valuable Performer and Most Improved Performer, as well as the academic success, presenting Chi Alpha Sigma honor medals to four members of CMSV's second class into the national athletic honor society.

The night began with the "Parade of Seniors," where all members of the Class of 2017 were introduced one-by-one, to the cheers of their fellow student-athletes. Each of the seniors were presented with a custom CMSV ball-point pen and commemorative key chain.
 

 























 

The first honorees of the night were the 21 members of CMSV's beta class for Chi Alpha Sigma. The four seniors and 17 juniors, were all presented with their Chi Alpha Sigma certificates, while the four seniors, were presented with a medallion by Director of Athletics and Recreation Barima Yeboah. 

 

 

 

The program continued with the announcing of the team awards, as each team selected an MVP and MIP. Below are the winners of each award.

The final awards presented during the program were the departmental honorary awards, recognizing top-performers, athletes coming back from injury and top student-workers from the past year.
