Purchase, NY - The University of Mount Saint Vincent celebrated Senior Day in grand fashion, posting dominant wins over St. Joseph's University Brooklyn. The Dolphins struck early for a 14-2 game one win before taking game two by the score of 7-1.
The Dolphins exploded for six runs in the first inning, setting the tone off the jump. Andrew Farina got the scoring started with an RBI single before John Anthony Spanoudakis added an RBI groundout. Pablo Austin later reached on an error that brought home another run, and Zach Turko delivered the biggest hit of the frame with a two-run double. Michael Vascellaro capped the inning with an RBI single to give UMSV a commanding 6-0 lead with the order batting around.
Spanoudakis stayed hot in the second inning, launching a solo home run to extend the advantage. In the fourth, Stephen Marinez added to his strong day with an RBI triple.
After the Bears scored two unearned runs in the fifth, the Dolphins responded with another offensive outburst in the sixth. Marinez ripped a three-run double, Evan Dutzer followed with an RBI single, and UMSV added two more runs on a defensive miscue to put the game out of reach.
Every member of the starting lineup recorded at least one hit in game one. Nicholas Rodriguez received the final start of his Dolphins career and delivered a 3.2 inning performance that saw him allow no runs.
After trailing 1-0 in the opening inning of game two, the Dolphins answered in the second. Farina once again delivered, tying the game with an RBI groundout before Will Granata delivered a two-run single to give UMSV a 3-1 lead.
The Dolphins once again found success in the sixth inning. They would add four more runs, with Farina starting the rally with an RBI single. Granata followed again with a two-run double to extend the advantage, while Marinez added an RBI single later in the inning to cap the scoring.
Jake Bland earned the win in the second leg of the double header, impressing with six strikeouts across four innings. Mike Iocco also added his name to the top of the record books, as the reliever made his 57th career appearance in the contest, the most in program history.
UMSV wraps up their 2026 campaign 11-26 overall, with a 7-13 record against the Skyline.
