RIVERDALE, NY - The CMSV Wrestling team returned to the mat on Friday night, hosting #18 NYU in a dual meet, the season finale for the Dolphins. With only three healthy wrestlers, CMSV dropped a 43-3 decision.
With only three healthy wrestlers at 125lb, 141lb and 285lb, CMSV was able to win one of the three, with
Jakob Cala winning a 6-0 decision over Anthony Sulla.
Starting at 285lb,
Justin Hansel lost a major decision 14-4 to Santino Pelusi.
Cala came next at 125lb, and his match went the distance, as the freshman won a 6-0 decision, earning three points for his side.
In the final match of the night,
Michael Foca and Nathan Pike also went the distance. The bout remained scoreless into the third period, but Pike was able to earn a neutral point and 2-point take down, which served as the winning point late in the period.
Both teams forfeited the 133lb match and NYU won 149lb, 157lb, 165lb, 174lb, 184lb and 197lb by forfeit.
