RIVERDALE, NY - The CMSV Wrestling team returned to the mat on Saturday morning, hosting SUNY Ulster and Centenary College in a double dual. The Dolphins were able to split, earning a 42-18 victory over SUNY Ulster but dropping a 54-3 decision to Centenary.
The Senators of SUNY Ulster only brought three wrestlers to the competition, thus the match featured only one competition and two exhibition matches.
At 125lb,
Jakob Cala earned six points for the Dolphins, winning via pin over Mohammed Khan 43 seconds into action in the second period.
The Dolphins won forfeits at the following weight classes: 133lbs, 141lbs, 149lbs, 174lbs, 197lbs, and 285lbs. SUNY Ulster won via forfeit at the following weight classes: 157lbs, 165lbs, and 184lbs.
The Dolphins next took on the Cyclones of Centenary College, the teams would compete in four matches and two exhibition matches.
Cala, once again started the Dolphins off on the right track, winning his team three points, with an 11-4 decision over Bobby Demeter.
Next up for CMSV were
Connor Hay (133lbs) and
Michael Foca (141), and
Justin Hansel (285lbs) all three lost via pin, with Hay falling 28 seconds into action in the second period, Foca falling 46 seconds into action in the third period, and Hansel falling 1:14 into action in the second period.
The Cyclones would earn forfeit victories at 149, 157, 165, 174, 184, and 197.
