Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball, Men's Volleyball & Basetball Teams in Action

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 | Box Score 4 RIVERDALE, NY - Four CMSV teams were in action on Saturday with the CMSV Men's & Women's basketball teams concluding their regular season with a doubleheader against Farmingdale State, while the CMSV Men's Volleyball team took part in a tri-match, while CMSV  Baseball began thier 2016 campaign in Virginia.

Men's Basketball 

The CMSV men's basketball team wrapped up the 2015-16 season falling by 10 to Farmingdale State. The loss drops the Dolphins to 9-16 overall and an 8-12 record in the Skyline, placing them eighth, two games out of playoff position. 

Three Dolphins cored in double figures, led by Jamir Ferebee who scored 21 points, while Jesse Regina scored a career-high 20 points. Andrew Curiel added 16 points and along with Ferebee led the team in rebounds with seven each. 

In the first half CMSV opened up the game on an 11-0 run over the first 3:11. The Rams would counter with a 30-8 run over the next 10+ minutes of play to take a commanding 13 point lead at 30-17 just over five minutes before halftime.

CMSV would not go away as they began chipping away at the lead would cut the lead to 36-35 with under a minute to play after a 3-pointer by Kahlil Shorter.

The Dolphins would never lead in the second half but would cut the lead down to one within the four minutes of play after a 3-pointer by Jose Maestre and a jumper by Mamadou Mariko.

After making seven 3's in the first half the Dolphins only made three in the second half and would be outscored 47-40 over the final 20 minutes of play.


Men's Volleyball

The CMSV men's volleyball team took part in a Skyline tri-match taking on NJCU and Ramapo College. The Dolphins defeated NJCU 3-2 but were swept by Ramapo 3-0.

Against the Gothic Knights, Neven Skoblar led all players with 17 kills, while Tyler Cucullu added 14 and Jordan Steiger added 12. Skoblar had an excellent all around game tallying four aces and five blocks. 

Logan Dickover added in 40 assists while Steiger and Dickover had 13 and 10 digs respctively.

CMSV took the first set 25-21 but then proceeded to lose the next two sets before turning their fortunes around in the fourth set.

In the fourth set, the Dolphins would get ahead 15-10 before NJCU would make a run by winning the next five points to tie the set at 15. The Dolpihns fought back from the brink of defeat when down 25-24, they won the final three points of the set, winning the set on a kill from Skoblar.

The deciding set was close from the start with neither team being able to take a lead larger than 3-points. After taking an 11-10 on a kill by Skoblar CMSV won four of the final six points and secured the victory on a kill by Steiger.

Against Ramapo, the Dolphins were defeated in straight sets 25-8, 25-20, 25-17. 

Cucullu led with seven kills and six digs, while Dickover added 18 assists. The Dolphins were dominated as they were only able to hit -.070 as a team while Ramapo hit .369%. Ramapo tallied 33 kills to CMSV's 21.

Baseball

The Dolphins began the 2016 campaign facing off against Bridgewater in a double-header. The Dolphins lost both games, 11-2 in game one and 10-0 in game two.

In game one, five Dolphins recorded a hit, with Matt Nesesohn going 2-fo-4 with an RBI, Keith Brodesser drove in the other Dolphin run as he went 1-fo-4 with an RBI and a run scored.

Tyler Krolikowski started for CMSV but he lasted only 2 innings, while giving up 9ER and 6H. Evan Brown pitched the final six innings in relief giving up 1ER on 7H.

In game two, the Dolphins managed only four hits accounted for by Nesesohn, Brodesser, Steven Giustino and Brandon Pasquale

Robert Negron started for CMSV and lasted only 3 innings, while surrendering 3ER and 3H. Bryan Cantero pitched 2.1 innings giving up 3ER and 6H,. Jeremy Glazer pitched the final 2.2 innings giving up 2H and no runs.
