Yonkers, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Lacrosse team dropped its fourth straight game on Thursday afternoon following a 19-4 Skyline Conference loss to visiting St. Joseph's-L.I. Sophomore
Shannon Steimel (Shoreham, N.Y.) scored two goals in the game and senior
Kelly Fraser (Staten Island, N.Y.) totaled four points.

The visitors controlled the game from the start, scoring the first eight goals of the contest. The Golden Eagles had eight different players score over the opening stretch as they moved in front 8-0 over the first 14:01 of the contest.

Mount Saint Vincent got on the board at the 14:46 mark of the first half on Steimel's first goal of the game. Fraser assisted on the Steimel marker and then scored her ninth goal of the year at the 7:07 mark off a feed from
Kayla Carigliano (Clarkstown, N.Y.) that pulled the Mount to within 8-2.

St. Joseph's got the next two goals of the game to move back in front by eight, before Carigliano found the back of the cage for the 11
th time this season in the final minute of the first half to get the Dolphins to within 10-3 at the intermission.

The Golden Eagles finished the half outshooting Mount Saint Vincent 24-7 and held a 23-15 advantage in groundballs. The visitors also won eight of the 14 draw controls contested and went a perfect 6-for-6 in clearing chances.

Mount Saint Vincent managed just one goal after halftime on Thursday, Steimel's 11
th goal of the season, just over five minutes into the second stanza. St. Joseph's pushed its lead to 10 goals at the 19:15 mark of the second half and closed the game with the final seven goals.

With their scoring output on Thursday, Carigliano and Steimel are tied for the team lead in goals with 11. Carigliano matched the team-high with two draw controls in the game, joining
Erin Maloney (Staten Island, N.Y.).

Fraser moved into the team lead in assists with six after helping on three goals and scoring one on the day. She is tied with Steimel for the team lead in points with 15 and added three groundballs on Thursday.
Ardiana Mehmetaj (North Salem, N.Y.) collected three groundballs and won a draw control and
Rachel Steimel (Shoreham, N.Y.) scooped five groundballs for the Dolphins.

St. Joseph's was led by four goals and five points from Kristin Carroll and received two goals and four assists from Ela Igdeler. Caitlynn Webber led the team with five draw controls and Igdeler posted a game-high eight groundballs.

Senior
Kacie McCormack (Mahopac, N.Y.) closed the game with a season-high 19 saves and led the Dolphins with six groundballs in the game. St. Joseph's used a pair of goalies, with Courtney Wickline and Katie McGarrell each making two saves.

For the game, Mount Saint Vincent was outshot 49-11 overall and 38-8 in shots on goal. The Golden Eagles held a 43-23 advantage in groundballs and an 18-7 edge in draw controls. Mount Saint Vincent closed the game 10-for-18 in clearing chances.

Thursday's loss drops Mount Saint Vincent to 1-6 overall on the season and to 0-2 in Skyline Conference play. Next up for the Dolphins is a trip to Old Westbury on April 8. Opening Draw with the Panthers is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
