Riverdale, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Soccer team dropped a Skyline Conference match against visiting Maritime on Saturday afternoon by a score of 3-2. Freshman Dennis Reyes (Waldwick, N.J.) scored both Mount Saint Vincent goals, posting his third multi-goal game of the season.
 
For the first time this season, Mount Saint Vincent got on the board first when Reyes scored his eighth goal of the season in the third minute. He picked up a free ball in the box and floated a shot to the top right corner for the early 1-0 lead.
 
Mount Saint Vincent would hold the one goal advantage until Maritime evened the score on an own goal in the 55th minute. A throw in was deflected by a defender into the goal to start a string of three straight tallies for the visitors.
 
Maritime would take the lead at the 65:24 mark when Michael Wood potted his first goal of the season. He converted a passing play from Tim Swinehart and Kieran Donnelly to give the Privateers a 2-1 lead. Renato Chira-Farfan would later score the game winning goal at 87:02. He headed in a feed of a throw in from Swinehart for a 3-1 edge.
 
Reyes would get Mount Saint Vincent back to within a goal later in regulation time with his second tally of the day and his team leading ninth of the season. With 1:10 left in regulation time, Reyes collected a loose ball at the top of the box a buried a shot inside the far post to get the Dolphins to within a goal.
 
The Dolphins would not get another attempt at the Maritime goal, as the Privateers collected their first league win of the season.
 
Sophomore David Melchor (Los Angeles, Calif.) made six saves in the game for Mount Saint Vincent, while Karl Weber picked up the win after stopping five Mount Saint Vincent shots.

Mount Saint Vincent finished the game with 13-11 advantage in shots overall, while Maritime held the edge in shots on goal 9-7. Corner kicks in the match went the way of Maritime 8-2, while fouls in the match were whistled 16-14 against the Dolphins.
 
Saturday's loss drops Mount Saint Vincent to 3-4 overall and to 1-1 in Skyline Conference play. The Dolphins will play their third straight home game on Monday when they play host to John Jay. Kick-off is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
