Riverdale, NY - After golf standout Brennan Sherman took home the Skyline Conference's Elite 19 award for golf, another Dolphin earned the honor for men's soccer.
Edoardo Wicht, a sophomore captain on the men's soccer team, received the award in a pregame ceremony before UMSV battled Farmingdale State College in the Skyline Conference semifinal game on Marillac Field on Wednesday. Wicht has posted a perfect 4.0 GPA throguhout his time at the University. His GPA was ranked best among all qualified conference men's soccer student-athletes.Â
The Skyline's Elite 19 Award, modeled off of the NCAA's Elite 90 Award, is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade point average competing in each of the Skyline's 19 championships. In the event of a tie, the award is given to the student-athlete who has completed the highest number of credits. The Elite 19 award, mirrored after the NCAA Elite 90 award, is given out at the conference championship to the student-athlete participating in the championship with the highest GPA.
