Riverdale, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Soccer team suffered its first loss of the season on Tuesday afternoon, falling to visiting Eastern University by a score of 3-1. Freshman
Jaime Salazar (Long Beach, Calif.) scored the Mount's only goal, the first of his career.

For the second straight game, Mount Saint Vincent found itself down by a score in the early going after Eastern's Eric Giovagnoli tallied an unassisted goal at the 14:26 mark of the tilt to give the Eagles a 1-0 advantage.

The Dolphins would answer late in the half to get into the intermission tied at 1-1 on Salazar's first career marker. He took a free kick from 30 yards and beat the Eastern keeper under the bar to knot the score at 1-1 at 38:25.

The game would remained tied at a goal apiece until the visitors struck twice in a seven minute span to secure the victory. Jamie Bonner got the game winning goal in the 73
rd minute when he headed in a feed off of the foot of Benjamin Barnhart. Eastern got an insurance marker in the 83
rd minute when Jadon Ramsing scored off a corner kick started by Jonathan Nazon.

Nick Policastro picked up the win in goal for Eastern and moved to 2-0 on the season after making four stops, including three in the first 45 minutes.
David Melchor (Los Angeles, Calif.) suffered the loss after making eight stops in 71:42 of work.
Eduardo Arce (Chula Vista, Calif.) made his first appearance of the season for the Dolphins and made two saves in just over 18 minutes of action.

The Eagles finished the contest with a 17-11 edge in shots, including an 8-3 advantage after halftime. Corner kicks were even at six in the match, while fouls were whistled 15-13 against the Mount.

Tuesday's loss drops Mount Saint Vincent to 1-1 overall on the season. Next up for the Dolphins is a trip to New London, Conn. for a date with Mitchell on September 6. Kick-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
