Yonkers, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Lacrosse team suffered its second straight Skyline Conference loss on Wednesday with a 16-8 defeat at the hands of visiting Farmingdale State. Junior

Colleen Walsh (Manchester, Vt.) each scored twice in the game for the Mount.
After Fraser opened the scoring in the game for the Dolphins in the first minute, Farmingdale State ripped off the next eight goals to move in front 8-1. Lisa Olen scored twice for the Rams over the run, while Christy Thoden added two goals and a pair of assists.
Laura Carr (Franklin Square, N.Y.) would snap the Rams' first half run at the 5:58 mark of the opening stanza to close out the scoring in the first half. She tallied an unassisted goal to get the Mount to within 8-2 heading into halftime.
Coming out of halftime
Jessica McAllister (Floral Park, N.Y.) scored her fifth goal of the season at the 28:23 mark of the second half to being the Mount to within five goals. Farmingdale State would answer with four of the next six goals to move back in front by seven at 12-5. Nicole Marzocca scored twice for the Rams, while Fraser and Walsh tallied for the Dolphins.
Rachel Steimel (Shoreham, N.Y.) and Walsh scored back-to-back goals at 16:56 and 10:03 to get the Mount back to within five goals, but the Rams closed the game on a 4-1 run to collect their 11
th win of the season and third win against league opponents.
Olen and Katie Geheran each scored three times in the game for the visitors, while Thoden added two goals and three helpers. Brittany Rosino also assisted on three goals for the Rams. Rosino paced Farmingdale State with six groundballs and Thoden led the way with eight draw controls.
Walsh added three groundballs and three caused turnovers to her scoring output with Fraser going 2-for-2 in free-position chances. She also collected a pair of groundballs in the game. Carr led the Dolphins with two draw controls on the day.
Kacie McCormack (Mahopac, N.Y.) finished the day with 11 saves for Mount Saint Vincent and added a groundball. Georgia Kalamidas earned the win for the Rams with eight stops.
Wednesday's loss drops Mount Saint Vincent to 3-5 overall and to 1-2 in league play. The Dolphins will be back in action again on Saturday when they travel to St. Joseph's-L.I. Opening Draw with the Golden Eagles is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
