Laura Carr totaled six points and eight groundballs in Monday's win

Yonkers, N.Y. – Led by five goals from junior Kelly Fraser (Staten Island, N.Y.) and nine saves from junior Kacie McCormack (Mahopac, N.Y.), the College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Lacrosse team posted an impressive 19-6 non-conference win over Centenary on Monday afternoon.
 
The Dolphins never trailed on Monday and broke the game open in the first half with six straight goals to open a 9-2 lead. Fraser scored half of the team's goals over the run and scored all five of her goals in the game in the first 30 minutes to get the Dolphins into halftime with a 12-5 advantage.
 
Mount Saint Vincent had seven different players score a goal before halftime, including two markers from Melina Mezzanotte (Shirley, N.Y.) and the first goal of the season for senior Samantha Ramsden (Warren, R.I.). The Mount held a 25-11 edge in shots over the first half.
 
Mount Saint Vincent allowed the visitors to score just once after the intermission on Monday and scored the first five goals of the second half to open a 17-5 lead. Ardiana Mehmetaj (North Salem, N.Y.) scored twice in the second half for the Mount and Mezzanotte potted her third of the game with 7:22 left in regulation.
 
The Dolphins had nine different players find the scoring column on Monday and saw six players with multiple goals in the game. Fraser finished with six points after adding an assist to go along with a groundball. Mezzanotte added three groundballs to her scoring output with Catherine Mass (West Hartford, Conn.) tallying twice.
 
Senior Laura Carr (Franklin Square, N.Y.) closed the game with six points on two goals and four assists and added eight groundballs and six draw controls. Brittany DeGennaro (Manorville, N.Y.) wrapped up with two goals and two assists, while Mehmetaj won nine draw controls to go along with her two markers.
 
McCormack earned her third win of the season on Monday after stopping nine shots in the game, including five after halftime. Her counterpart, Andrea Wisniewski, recorded 13 saves for Centenary and picked up three groundballs.
 
Mount Saint Vincent finished the game with a 38-18 advantage in shots, including a 32-15 edge in shots on goal. The Dolphins took the advantage in groundballs 30-24 and draw controls 18-9 and finished the game 10-for-12 in clears.
 
Monday's win pushes Mount Saint Vincent to 3-4 overall on the season. The Dolphins will be back in action again on Wednesday when they welcome Skyline Conference rival Farmingdale State to Tibbetts Brook Park. Opening Draw with the Rams is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
