Brooklyn, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Basketball team closed out the non-conference portion of its schedule on Monday night with a 64-49 road loss at St. Joseph's-Brooklyn. Kelly Fraser (Staten Island, N.Y.) was the only Dolphin player to score in double-figures, posting a team-high 17 points.
 
The first half on Monday features three ties and nine lead changes, before the Lady Bears took the lead for good in the game on a Megan Moran lay-up with just under two minutes to play before halftime. The Moran conversion was part of a 20-9 spurt that erased a five point Mount Saint Vincent advantage. Following a Fraser bucket with 11:25 left in the half, the Dolphins managed just two more field goals before halftime.
 
The Dolphins went 10-for-39 from the floor in the opening stanza, while St. Joseph's shot an even 40-percent from the floor and went 4-for-6 from three point range to build a 32-26 halftime advantage. Kelly McNamee led all scorers at the break for the Lady Bears with 12 points after going 5-for-7 from the floor, including a pair of triples.
 
Mount Saint Vincent would see its deficit grow to 38-29 after St. Joseph's scored six of the first nine points of the second half. The Dolphins went on to slice its disadvantage down to 48-47 on a Fraser free-throw with just over seven minutes left, but a quick 10-0 run from St. Joseph's got its lead back to 58-47 with 4:09 to play in regulation.
 
The Dolphins would get the St. Joseph's lead back to single digits on a Brittany Lee (Newton, N.J.) free-throw, but the Lady Bears would knock down six of eight free-throws over the final 1:11 to grab the final 15 point decision.
 
Mount Saint Vincent struggled from the field all night and finished shooting a season-low 21.8-perceent after converting on just 17.9-percent of its chances after halftime. The Dolphins went 2-for-16 from three-point range and were outscored in second chance opportunities 8-1.
Fraser finished the game for Mount Saint Vincent 7-for-14 from the floor on her way to the team-high point total. She hauled in a game-high 19 rebounds and blocked five shots. She was one of just four players for the Mount on Monday to convert more than two field goals.
 
Lee closed out the night with eight points and seven rebounds and Christina Barone (Staten Island, N.Y.) netted six points and handed out five assists. Tanisha Montague (Brooklyn, N.Y.) led all players with four steals to go along with four points and four rebounds.
 
McNamee led three Lady Bears in double-figures with a game-high 18 points on 7-for-12 shooting overall. She also handed out four assists and swiped three steals in the win. Moran led St. Joseph's with 18 rebounds and added 12 points and Taylor Raccuglia chipped in 12 points, nine rebounds and five blocks.
 
Monday's loss drops Mount Saint Vincent to 15-6 overall on the season. The Dolphins will return to league play on Wednesday night when they travel to Mount Saint Mary. Tip-off with the Knights is set for 7:00 p.m.
