Riverdale, NY – The University of Mount Saint Vincent closed out their 2025-26 campaign on Saturday afternoon in a contest against the United States Merchant Marine Academy. Despite the end result, happiness and energy was felt throughout the Sharp Center, with the basketball program hosting their annual senior day game.
Julia Angeles,
AB Burnett,
Sofia Marcos,
Ashley Marrocco,
Kyla McLean and
Lexi Tucker were all honored in a pregame ceremony, and
Angeles, Burnett, Marcos, McLean and Tucker made up the starting five.
Round numbers were completed throughout the contest. Angeles played in her 100
th game as a member of the Dolphins, McClean knocked down a pair of free throws to register 100 points for her career, and Tucker made her first career start.
The senior unit gave UMSV a boost. The team battled with the top seeded Mariners all afternoon long, making it an 11 point game as late as the fourth quarter.
Marrocco wrapped up her career with another double digit scoring performance, giving her eight on the season. Sophomore
Grace Kennedy followed suit with a 10 point, six rebound, three assist, three steal game.
Burnett,
Angelina Escobinas and
Alexa Zephirin had seven points apiece while
Michaela Ligon grabbed seven boards.
The Dolphins will regroup after a year of ups and downs and will turn their attention to next fall, where they'll look to put the pieces in place to return to the Skyline Conference postseason.
