Riverdale, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Basketball team scored a 71-46 non-conference victory over York on Thursday night and in the process moved to a perfect 7-0 at home this season.
Kelly Fraser (Staten Island, N.Y.) led a pair of Dolphins in double-figures with 19 points on her way to her sixth double-double of the season.

Following the opening conversion of the game from York, the Mount scored 11 straight points over the next five minutes to move in front for good in the game. The Dolphins went 5-for-7 from the floor over the run and held the Cardinals to a 0-for-6 showing in gaining the lead.

Mount Saint Vincent would get its lead to double-figures when
Nicole Oliver (Camel, N.Y.) tallied in the paint to give the Dolphins a 20-9 lead with 9:05 left in the first half. The Mount let the Cardinals to within seven points on a Nia Rene jumper at the 5:50 mark, before the Dolphins closed the half on a 13-2 run over the final 5:37 of the half to take a 35-17 advantage into the halftime intermission.

Although Mount Saint Vincent shot just 31.8-percent from the floor in the half, the Dolphins held York to a 23.5-percent conversion rate and forced 19 Cardinal turnovers. Over the first 20 minutes of the game the Dolphins held a 20-12 edge in the paint and turned 19 miscues into 23 points in the half. Fraser had her double-double before the half with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Coming out of halftime, York hit three straight triples over the first 1:40 to slice the Mount Saint Vincent lead to nine points, at 35-26. Following a timeout, Mount Saint Vincent put together a 24-10 run over a 10:14 stretch to expand its lead to 59-36 with just over eight minutes left in regulation.
Brittany Carroll (Staten Island, N.Y.) sparked the run with 13 points.

The lead would stay greater than 20 points for the remainder of the contest and grew to a game-high 29 points on a
Desiree Rosa (Dumont, N.J.) three-pointer with 3:58 left to play. The triple was one of three in the game for Rosa.

After making just three three-point field goals in the first half, Mount Saint Vincent went 6-for-15 from behind the arc after halftime and finished 9-for-30 in the game from bonus distance. Overall, Mount Saint Vincent finished shooting 34.5-percent from the floor and just 4-for-9 from the free-throw line.

Fraser rounded out the game with 24 points on 10-for-19 shooting to go along with 15 rebounds, seven blocked shots, three assists and four steals. Fraser scored better than 20 points for the third time this season and she reached double-figures in rebounds for the eighth time and the seventh straight outing.

Carroll continued her steady play with 16 more points on Thursday on 6-for-16 shooting overall and a 4-for-12 effort from three-point range.
Christina Barone (Staten Island, N.Y.) posted at least 10 assists in the game for the second time this season with her 11 helpers and Rosa closed out the night with nine points and three steals.

The Dolphins defense held York to 27.9-percent shooting on the night and forced 34 turnovers, the fourth time they have forced more than 30 miscues in a game. The Mount closed the game with a 36-4 advantage in points off of turnovers.

Thursday's win moves Mount Saint Vincent to 8-3 overall on the season. The Dolphins will return to league play on Saturday afternoon when they travel to NYU-POLY. Tip-off with the Jays is set for 2:00 p.m.
