Box Score
Yonkers, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Soccer team earned a hard fought 1-1 draw with visiting John Jay on Saturday night. Freshman Tajay Simon (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) scored his second goal of the season for the Mount.

Simon broke a scoreless tie in the 15th minute of the game when he took a through ball from Eric Lara (Pawtucket, R.I.). Simon buried his shot under the crossbar to send Mount Saint Vincent to an early 1-0 lead.

The advantage would stand for the Dolphins until the final two minutes of the first half when reserve Jesus Lugo found the back of the net with the equalizer for the Bloodhounds. After a misplayed ball was touched by Christ Assou, Lugo found the top left corner to close out the scoring in the game.

The two teams played a tightly contested second half, with each narrowly missing chances at the game winner. Lugo hit the bar and had another strong chance denied by Mount Saint Vincent netminder Hector Morales (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) who came on late in the first half sue to injury.

In the first overtime stanza, Mount Saint Vincent picked up four shots, including one from Ahmed Ajao (Brooklyn, N.Y.) that just sailed high in the final minute of the period.

Morales came on for the Dolphins with just under two minutes to play in the first half on Saturday and finished the night with four saves. Barkel Foster (New York, N.Y.) made the start and made two stops before leading the contest due to injury. John Jay keeper Vitecha Kochaon went the distance and made six stops.

For the game, John Jay held a narrow edge in shots 19-14 with both teams putting seven shots on goal. The Dolphins took five of the seven corner kicks in the contest and fouls were whistled 22-20 against the home team.

With Saturday's result, Mount Saint Vincent moves to 1-1-1 overall on the season. Next up for the Dolphins is a date with cross-town rival Lehman on Wednesday afternoon. Kick-off at Fleming Park is set for 4:00 p.m.
