Final Stats

Yonkers, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Lacrosse team dropped its second straight Skyline Conference contest on Wednesday with an 18-7 loss to Farmingdale State. Junior Nicole Flores continued her strong campaign with four goals in the game.
 
After Farmingdale State scored the first two goals of the game two minutes apart, Kelly Fraser (Staten Island, N.Y.) brought the Dolphins to within a goal, at 2-1, with her 21^st tally of the season just under six minutes into the opening period.
 
The one goal disadvantage would be as close as the Mount would get the rest of the afternoon, as the Rams responded with the next eight goals to open a 10-1 lead with 5:25 to play before the half.
 
Flores would net back-to-back goals for Mount Saint Vincent in the final three minutes of the first stanza, but the Dolphins would head to the intermission down by a score of 12-3 after a pair of Jordyn Hasemann goals in the final 1:08.
 
The visiting Rams would pick right up where the left off before the break to open the second half and poured in the first four goals coming out of halftime. Fraser would break the string with her second of the game with 8:49 left in the tilt and the Dolphins would score the final three goals of the game, including two from Flores, to get to within the final 11 goal decision.
 
Farmingdale State got big days from Hasemann and Krystin Shand who each scored seven times on the day. Hasemann added an assist and Shand closed out a 12 point contest with five helpers. Hasemann also led the team with four groundballs, while Jillian Pironti and Christy Thoden each won three draw controls.
 
Flores' goal output on the day gives her 40 goals on the season and she also paced the Dolphins with six groundballs and six draw controls. Fraser added a groundball and two draw controls to her scoring total and freshman Melina Mezzanotte (Shirley, N.Y.) added a goal and a helper.
 
Sophomore Samantha Ramsden (Warren, R.I.) picked up three groundballs in the game for the Dolphins and led the team with three caused turnovers. Colleen Walsh (Manchester, Vt.) caused a turnover for the Mount and picked up a groundball.
 
Michelle Miller (Chester, Pa.) took the loss in goal for Mount Saint Vincent and rounded out the game with 10 saves, including eight before halftime. Courtney Cook won the game for Farmingdale State with eight saves.
 
Overall, Mount Saint Vincent was outshot in the game 37-18 and it also lost the groundball battle 27-16. The Dolphins did win 14 of the 27 draw controls and were an efficient 6-for-8 in clearing chances.
 
The loss drops Mount Saint Vincent to 4-8 overall on the season and to 3-4 against Skyline Conference opponents. The Dolphins will be back in action again on Saturday when they close out the regular season against Mount Saint Mary. Opening Draw is set for 1:00 p.m.
