Patchogue, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Soccer team fell for the eighth straight time on Sunday afternoon following an 8-0 loss at league rival St. Joseph's-L.I. Joshua Zumbado (Bronx, N.Y.) made eight saves in goal for the Dolphins.
 
The Golden Eagles got the only goal they would need in the game in the sixth minute on Sunday when John Dettori finished a feed from Brendan O'Brien at the 5:47 mark of the match. The duo hooked up for a second time at 12:03 for Dettori's second of the game at the 12:03 mark.
 
St. Joseph's went into halftime with a 5-0 lead and added three goals inside the first 21 minutes of the second period. Dettori closed out the game with six points after adding a pair of assists to his two goals. Justin Heredia added two more goals for the Golden Eagles and Gaetano Innamorato joined O'Brien with two assists on the day.
 
Zumbado made his first career start in goal for the Dolphins and finished with eight stops, including six in the first half. Chris Muhs earned the shutout win for the Golden Eagles without making a save.
 
For the day, St. Joseph's held a commanding 32-1 edge in shots overall and a 16-0 edge in shots on goal. Freshman Tajay Simon (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) got off the only Mount Saint Vincent attempt in the game.
 
St. Joseph's also held an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks on Sunday, while fouls in the contest went against the Dolphins 6-5.
 
Sunday's result drops Mount Saint Vincent to 2-9-1 overall on the season and to 0-8 in league play. The Dolphins will close out the 2012 season on Wednesday evening when they host NYU-POLY. Kick-off at Gaelic Park is set for 6:00 p.m.
