Yonkers, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Soccer team used three first half goals and a balanced scoring attack to cruise to a 4-0 Skyline Conference victory over Yeshiva on Sunday night. Three Dolphins,
Hubert Bararwandika (Bronx, N.Y.),
Javier Mandujano (Norwalk, Conn.) and
Andres Romero (Port Chester, N.Y.) all scored their first career goals in the win.

Mount Saint Vincent got off to a quick start on Sunday night when
Joshua Zumbado (Bronx, N.Y.) potted the eventual game winning goal at the 3:30 mark of the match. Zumbado took a feed from Romero on a well conceived penetration and beat Yeshiva keeper Joseph Blechner for all the scoring the Dolphins would need.
Romero picked up his second helper of the game in the 23rd minute of action when he found Mandujano on one of five Mount Saint Vincent corner kicks. Mandujano found the back of the net on what head coach Gianni Grimaldi described as “a world class bicycle kick goal on a corner kick.” Following the contest Grimaldi named Mandujano the team's 'Man of the Match.'

Mount Saint Vincent would take a commanding 3-0 lead into halftime after Bararwandika chipped in with his first of the season late in the period. He found the back of the cage in the 44th minute.

Romero would get his named into the goal scoring column in the 86th minute when he took a feed from Mandujano and closed out a four point game with his first career marker. In all, the Dolphins had four different goal scorers, with Mandujano tallying a goal and an assist and Romero finishing with a goal and a pair of helpers.

Senior
Matt Calandrillo (Cold Spring, N.Y.) earned his first career shutout for the Dolphins after making a pair of saves in the tilt. The Dolphins went on to unleash nine shots on goal in the match, with Blechner making five stops for Yeshiva.

“Overall I was impressed by the Blue Collar effort the team gave in gutting out a shut out against a Yeshiva,” stated Grimaldi following the match. “Collectively our players permitted only one great shot on target which Matt brilliantly saved.”

Overall on the night, Mount Saint Vincent held the edge in shots 17-10 and in corner kicks 5-3.

Grimaldi went on to add, “Equally impressive was how our team collectively executed our game plan, not only in creating our early goal, but in jumping out to a 3-0 lead by halftime. We should be very proud of our young men in a total team effort and trust they will come out to our next match on Wednesday in the same fashion.”

The win improves Mount Saint Vincent to 1-2 overall on the season and to 1-0 in the Skyline Conference. The Dolphins will look to sustain their momentum from Sunday when they host Sage on Wednesday. Kick-off at Fleming Field in Yonkers is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
