Riverdale, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Men's Soccer team dropped its fifth straight contest on Wednesday evening after falling to league rival Mount Saint Mary by a score of 7-0. The loss drops Mount Saint Vincent to 1-7 overall on the season and to 1-5 in league play.
The Dolphins and Knights played a tightly contested first half, until the visitors broke the game open with three goals late in the period. Ryan Folken got the scoring started at the 34:24 mark and Sean Barton added a second tally just 32 seconds later for the Knights. The first half scoring ended on a tally from Adam Palumbo inside the final five minutes of the half.
The Knights would go on to add four more goals in the second half, with Barton closing out a big day with his second and third goals of the contest. In all seven Mount Saint Mary players recorded at least a point in the contest, with Barton leading the way with seven. Brandon Mincher added three assists in the tilt.

Matt Calandrillo (Cold Spring, N.Y.) finished the night by making six saves between the pipes for the Dolphins. His counterpart, Matt Darling picked up the shutout victory and was not forced to make a save.
Overall on the night, Mount Saint Mary held the edge in shots 23-2 with
Javier Mandujano (Norwalk, Conn.) and
Joseph Rosado (Highland Falls, N.Y.) getting off the only attempts for the Mount. The Knights posted a 7-1 edge in corner kicks, while fouls were called 6-13 against the Dolphins.
The Dolphins will look to snap their skid on Saturday evening when they play host to Farmingdale St. Kick-off with the Rams at Tibbetts Brook Park in Yonkers is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
