Bronxville, N.Y. – The College of Mount Saint Vincent Women's Volleyball team continued its hot streak on Monday night with a 3-1 win at Sarah Lawrence. The Dolphins, who have won six of their last seven, took the match by set scores of 25-22, 23-25, 25-9 and 25-19. Sophomore Kristine DeMasi (Brooklyn, N.Y.) had a big night for the Dolphins with 11 kills and 25 digs.
The Dolphins continued to show a balanced offensive attack on Monday night with eight different players recording a kill. DeMasi led the Dolphins with her 11 winners and posted an impressive .348 hitting percentage. She made just three errors in 23 total attempts. She completed her first double-double of the season with her 25 digs, as she was one of three players to post double-digit digs. She also chipped in with four service aces on the night.
Morgane Booker (East Providence, R.I.) continued her steady play for the Dolphins on Monday night with a nine kills, nine service ace performance. She also picked up nine digs for the Mount and finished with a block assist. Gabriella Burgos (Yonkers, N.Y.) led the Dolphins in the block category with five on the night, including four solos.
Caryl Garcia (Bronx, N.Y.) lifted a team-high 36 digs for the Dolphins on Monday night and also contributed a kill and a service ace to the winning effort. Freshman Designa Correa (Bronx, N.Y.) finished up the night with 13 digs and a pair of kills for the Dolphins. Erin MacBride (Merrick, N.Y.) led the way in assists on the night after handing out 21 helpers.
Overall in the match, Mount Saint Vincent put down 33 kills and hit .179. The Dolphins posted 17 service aces on the night and posted 16 total team blocks. Mount Saint Vincent also finished with 97 digs in the match.
The win improves Mount Saint Vincent's overall record to 7-5 on the season. The Dolphins will be off until Saturday when they host a non-conference tri-match with Ramapo and St. Joseph's-Brooklyn. The match with Ramapo is slated for 10:00 a.m., with the St. Joseph's contest scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at the Peter Jay Sharp Center.
