Riverdale, NY – The University of Mount Saint Vincent women's volleyball team continued its strong start to the 2026 campaign on Thursday evening, sweeping Medgar Evers College in straight sets at the Peter Jay Sharp Center. The victory comes off the heels of an opening night win just 24 hours prior against Yeshiva University.
The Dolphins controlled the match from start to finish, earning the victory by scores of 25-7, 25-4 and 25-13, the second sweep in as many games.
UMSV was dominant from the service line, finishing with 25 aces as a team. Alysa Padgett led the way with eight aces while also recording three kills. Paige Staley added four aces, while Sophia Mandalakis contributed three of her own.
Rebecca Talbert paced the Dolphins offensively with four kills, while Mandalakis and Anna Nolasco each added three. Stephanie Rodriguez dished out a team-high nine assists and added three service aces.
The Dolphins opened the match with a commanding 25-7 victory before limiting Medgar Evers to just four points in the second set. UMSV completed the sweep with a 25-13 win in the third.
After a two game home stand, the Dolphins will return to action on the road this Saturday to take on Centenary University.
