Mount Saint Vincent falls to CSI, 2-0 in Men's Soccer

Dolphins shut-out for second consecutive game

(Staten Island, NY) – The Mount Saint Vincent Men's Soccer team played a statistically even game with the College of Staten Island on Monday, but the effort was for not as the Mount dropped their second consecutive game, 2-0 to Staten Island in a game played at Staten Island. With the loss, the Dolphins drop to 1-3 on the season as their scoring woes continue. The Mount has not scored a goal since the first half of their win over Old Westbury on Sept. 13.

The Mount took 12 shots to Staten Island's 13, but only five of those shots were on-goal. Staten Island scored midway through the first half and only minutes into the second half as they dominated time of possession throughout the final 45 minutes of play. Marco Chiarizia (Staten Island, NY/Msgr. Farrell) led the way with four shots, two of which were on goal, and goalie Martino Cecere (Rye Brook, NY/Blind Brook HS).

Mount Saint Vincent returns home on Thursday with a game against Yeshiva University. The game will begin at 5:00 p.m. and will be played at Redmond-Cooke Field in Yonkers.
