Dolphins to finish with multiple goals and finished the day with 10 points on six goals and four assists.
After Martin opened the scoring at the 28:58 mark of the first half, Maritime reeled off three straight goals to open a two goal advantage. Katie Tucci (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) broke the string, but Maritime strung together three more goals to take a 6-2 lead with 8:39 left before the half.
After Kristine Saporito scored the third Maritime goal in the second run, the Dolphins scored five goals to close the half and head into the intermission with a 7-6 lead. Martin scored half of her six in the opening 30 minutes on Saturday.
The Dolphins opened the game up by scoring 12 of the 16 goals in the second half, including a string of eight in a row from the 18:52 mark until the 5:14 mark in the half. Jessie Mitchell (Suffern, N.Y.) and Martin combined for half of the Mount's goals in the frame.
Martin went 3-for-3 in free-position shots in the game and also chipped in with five draw controls. Martin is the only Mount Saint Vincent player in history to record 250 points in a career and is the program's all-time lead in points, goals and assists.
Mitchell also had a strong game, netting four goals. She also picked up three groundballs and won two draw controls. Julia Caro (Mamaroneck, N.Y.) added three markers for the Dolphins and Tucci, Lauren Perla (Holbrook, N.Y.) and Kim Freaso (Setauket, N.Y.) all scored twice. Tucci joined Martin with five draw controls.
Jackie Horn (Setauket, N.Y.) played a strong game between the pipes for the Dolphins, making 17 saves. She made nine saves in the first half and also caused a turnover. Jill Davenport made 11 saves for Maritime.
The Privateers were led by Saporito who scored five goals. Catherine Brady added three markers for Maritime.
The win improves Mount Saint Vincent's overall record to 6-5 on the season and its Skyline Conference mark to 5-3. The Dolphins will learn their seed and opponent for the Skyline Conference Tournament on Monday.
