the Mount Saint Vincent Women's Lacrosse team downed Centenary College, 17-5 on Monday during a game played at Centenary College. With the win, Mount Saint Vincent is now 6-7 overall, 3-2 in Skyline Conference play, and has clinched their second consecutive Skyline Conference playoff berth. The Mount can lock up the #3 seed in the upcoming playoffs with a win at Kean on Friday night.

The win was an impressive one considering that the game was all Centenary during the early going. The Cyclones raced out to leads of 2-0 and 3-1 before freshman goalie Nicole Fortier (East Lyme, CT/East Lyme HS) entered the game and virtually shut down the Cyclones. Upon Fortier's entry, Mount Saint Vincent went on an 11-2 run to close the first half and all but put Centenary away. The Dolphins led 12-5 at halftime, and never looked back. Martin had four goals and three assists during the first half, while Adams found the back of the net five times during the opening half.

The second half saw much of the same as Adams and Martin scored 47 seconds apart to extend the lead to 14-5. Centenary would go on a bit of a run to make it 15-7, but Adams scored the game's final two goals to extend the lead to 10. Overall, Mount Saint Vincent enjoyed a 35-29 edge in shots, and a 22-8 advantage in ground balls.

Fortier stopped 14 out of 18 shots for the win, and freshmen Katie Tucci (Baldwinsville, NY/Baldwinsville HS) and Khrystina Jackson (West Islip, NY/West Islip HS) each registered two points for the Mount.

Mount Saint Vincent returns to action on Wednesday, April 25 when they travel to Ramapo College for a 4:00 p.m. start.
