scored a 15-4 win at Bard. Mitchell was one of four Dolphins to post multiple points, with
Kelly Martin (Stony Point, N.Y.) adding six.
Mount Saint Vincent opened the game up early on Wednesday, scoring the first nine goals of the game. The Dolphins allowed Bard's first tally of the night with just 17 seconds left in the first half as they carried a commanding 10-1 lead into halftime. Martin and Mitchell combined for seven of the 10 markers for the Mount in the opening 30 minutes.
Bard would get on the board first to open the second half and would find the back of the cage two more times in the period, but Mount Saint Vincent proved to be too much. The Dolphins tallied five times in the stanza, with Martin scoring half of her four goals after halftime.
Mitchell has a strong all-around game for the Mount on Wednesday, netting six goals and assisting on three more. She also won four draw controls against the Raptors and caused three turnovers. Martin finished the night with four tallies and a pair of assists to go along with two draw controls for the Dolphins.
Lauren Perla (Holbrook, N.Y.) also netted a pair of goals for the Mount and added an assist and a draw control, while Erin Woerner (Kings Park, N.Y.) caused a team-high four turnovers. Jackie Horn (Setauket, N.Y.) made three saves in the cage to earn the win for the Dolphins.
Overall in the game Mount Saint Vincent outshot the Raptors 21-11 and picked up 30 groundballs to 25 for Bard. The Dolphins also totaled 11 draw controls in the tilt and were successful on 13 of their 17 clearing attempts.
The victory over Bard moves the Mount to 1-3 overall on the season and to 1-1 in Skyline Conference play. The Dolphins will be back in action again on Tuesday, April 6 against Farmingdale St. The game at Manhattan College's Gaelic Park will begin at 3:00 p.m.
