Dolphins Shut Out Maccabees For First Win Of Season

Riverdale, NY — The University of Mount Saint Vincent put together a dominant offensive performance Wednesday evening, cruising to an 11-0 victory over Yeshiva University at Marillac Field. The victory was the team's first in the 2026 campaign.

The Dolphins wasted little time getting on the scoreboard. Senior Lily Ostiguy opened the scoring in the third minute off an assist from freshman Jazlene Saldana, as both picked up their first points of the season. Sophomore Michelle Zuniga added another less than two minutes later before Saldana, Mia Del Rosario and Jaime Landavazo continued the offensive outburst. Del Rosario completed a first-half hat trick, scoring three times in an eight-minute span, while Landavazo's first career strike capped the opening-half scoring to send UMSV into halftime with a 7-0 advantage.

UMSV continued its offensive pressure after the break, with Kerrigyn Lynam scoring twice early in the second half. Caroline Gomes and Kate Russell added goals later in the half to round out the scoring.

In addition to the goals, there were plenty of assists to go around. Saldana and fellow freshman Seven Nguyen recorded two assists each, while Gomes, Russell and Nadine Padilla each added a helper as well.

The Dolphins generated 48 shots, including 28 on target, while limiting Yeshiva to zero shots. Kaitlyn Grady and Ella De Kruyf split time in goal and combined for the shutout.

The Dolphins will look to carry the momentum into Saturday's tilt against Vassar College.
