Riverdale, NY - The University of Mount Saint Vincent had a tall task on Saturday afternoon, battling a strong Vassar College program. The Dolphins held their own, keeping pace over the 90 minutes of action, but ultimately fell to the Brewers by the score of 1-0.
The Dolphins kept Vassar off the scoreboard for the first 36 minutes before the lone goal of the contest was scored late in the opening half. UMSV came out with increased pressure after halftime, recording all three of its shots and three shots on goal in the second half, but could not find the equalizer.
Lily Ostiguy led the Dolphins with two shots, both of which were on target, while Brianna Ricalde added a shot on goal. Kaitlyn Grady turned in one of the best performances of her career in goal. The senior made nine saves to keep UMSV within one throughout the contest.
UMSV moved to 1-2-0 overall and 1-0-0 in Skyline Conference play.
