University of Mount Saint Vincent Athletics

Brookville, NY - The University of Mount Saint Vincent erupted for six goals Friday afternoon, racing past The College at Old Westbury, 6-2. The victory, in a game that was rescheduled due to this weekend's expected nor'easter, extended the team's unbeaten Skyline Conference record to 3-0-1. 

The Dolphins wasted little time getting on the scoreboard, as Barry Jermaine Johnson found the back of the net just 2:14 into the match. After Old Westbury answered, UMSV regained the lead late in the opening half when Daniel Figueroa scored in the 41st minute off a pass from Yahir Tafoya. Felix Robinson added another just 2:35 later, assisted by Diego Cipolla, sending the Dolphins into halftime with a 3-1 advantage.

UMSV continued its offensive surge early in the second half. Adam Klak struck in the 49th minute off an assist from Robinson before Old Westbury pulled one back in the 59th minute. Jacob Rooney restored the three-goal cushion in the 64th minute, finishing a chance from Jenluis Henriquez, before Denis Music capped the scoring in the 87th minute with Tafoya providing the assist.

The Dolphins finished with a 28-17 advantage in shots and put 12 attempts on target. Tafoya recorded two assists, while Robinson finished with a goal and an assist. Goalkeeper Miguel Fierro made five saves in net for his second straight victory in net. 

UMSV looks to keep the momentum on their side heading into next week. They're set to challenge Manhattanville University in Riverdale on Tuesday.
