Dolphins Drop Regular Season Finale Against Rams

Farmingdale, NY - The University of Mount Saint Vincent faced a tough test against Farmingdale State Rams, falling 20-5 in a game where the Rams controlled the tempo from the opening whistle. The Dolphins finish the 2026 season with a 6-10 overall record and a 3-4 mark against the Skyline, the most conference wins in program history.

Farmingdale State came out firing, scoring six unanswered goals in the first quarter. The Dolphins got on the board late in the first with an unassisted goal from Mattias Remes, but the Rams continued to pour it on in the second quarter, extending their lead to double digits heading into the locker rooms at the half.

UMSV showed some fight with goals from Thaddeus Harris in the second and Chai Dunlap in the third, but Farmingdale's depth proved to be too much The Rams continued to capitalize on extra-man opportunities and transition chances in the third quarter to extend their lead.

Alfred Lamptey and Nathanial Simpson combined to go 14-for-28 in face-off opportunities opportunities, with Lamptey also leading the Dolphins with seven ground balls. Jakob Mahon, Brandon Mestres and Donte Thornill each had two caused turnovers, and that gave Mestres 38 on the year, surpassing head coach James Fitzgerald for most caused turnovers in a single season.

The Dolphins officially clinched the Skyline Conference Postseason Tournament for the first time in program history and are set to take on Manhattanville University this Tuesday.
