Dolphins Fall In Back And Forth Effort Against Centenary

Riverdale, NY - The University of Mount Saint Vincent women's lacrosse team opened their 2026 home slate in a competitive, back and forth showdown with Centenary University on Saturday afternoon. Despite a strong offensive effort, it was the Cyclones who emerged victorious by the score of 11-10.

The Dolphins are now 1-1 through a pair of games.

The offense was powered by Ella Meberg with a game-high five goals, firing eight shots with seven on target to pace the offense. Freshman Nevaeh Martin had a strong game in her first on Marillac Field, with a three goal, two assist, two draw control effort.

Laziza Azimova made her presence felt on both ends of the field, finishing with a team-high four caused turnovers while also contributing a goal and an assist. Brittany Boyle led the charge with seven ground balls while Divana Carrillo added four of her own.

In goal, Makenna Reekie delivered a solid performance, playing the full 60 minutes and recording 13 saves.

The Dolphins led by as many as four goals heading into the break, but Centenary found their spots offensively in the second half. The Cyclones outscored the Dolphins 8-3 in the final 30 minutes of action to ensure the victory.

UMSV will look to get into the win column this week against Albright College.
