Dolphins Return From Myrtle Beach, Split With USJ

West Hartford, CT - The University of Mount Saint Vincent turned around from the spring break trip and got right back into action, this time challenging the University of St. Joseph in a double header in West Hartford. The Dolphins and Blue Jays split the two contests, putting UMSV at 5-6 on the year.

In game one, the Dolphins came out strong offensively, scoring two runs in the first inning behind contributions from Carmen Henderson and Chloe Hart. Mount Saint Vincent continued to build its lead in the second, as Samantha Aviles and Paige Goerman each delivered RBI hits to make it 4–0. The Dolphins added two more runs in the fourth, with Henderson and Aviles again driving in runs to extend the advantage. Henderson and Aviles led the offense with multiple hits and RBI, while Kendra Rodriguez added two doubles. Despite a late push from USJ, Savannah Autobee pitched yet another complete game and earned her third win of the season.

In the second game, UMSV fell behind early as the Blue Jays plated runs in the opening innings to take control. The Dolphins were able to generate some offense in the middle frames, with Aviles and Goerman continuing to lead the way at the plate, but were unable to fully erase the deficit. Mount Saint Vincent added late pressure offensively, but USJ maintained its lead to take the second game of the doubleheader.

Across the two games, Aviles and Henderson paced the Dolphins offensively with strong multi-hit performances, while Goerman continued to contribute key RBI as UMSV split the day behind a balanced effort at the plate.

The Dolphins will have a rare Saturday off before turning their attention to Mitchell College, who they face of Sunday.
