Dolphins Face Tough Competition Against St. John Fisher, New Paltz

New Paltz, NY - The University of Mount Saint Vincent's women's volleyball program has been on a tremendous run as of late. The Dolphins rattled off an impressive five game win streak including four coming inside the Sharp Center, with two games coming down to the wire in five set showdowns. The team saw an uptick in competition, traveling up to New Paltz to challenge the Hawks and St. John Fisher in a Friday evening tri-match. Both teams got the better of UMSV, as the Dolphins dropped both games in straight sets. 

The team is now 6-7 with Skyline Conference play on the horizon. 

Despite the end result, the Dolphins once again found success all over the roster. 

In game one, it was Alyssa Padgett who led the way with four kills. The Puyallup, Washington native was joined by Dominque Otranto, who collected a pair of kills with three digs while Sienna Martin and Sophia Mandalakis added two kills as well. Stephanie Rodriguez had another double digit assist performance with 10 to go along with nine digs and a pair of kills and Anna Nolasco added eight digs as well. 

Martin paced the Dolphins in both kills and digs against New Paltz with five and nine, respectively, with Olivia Dutzer following up with a three kill performance. Padgett and Mandalakis each added a block to their stat line while Rodriguez and Paige Staley impressing in the serve game with eight and three aces. 

The Dolphins will get a final tuneup at home against John Jay College before challenging Sarah Lawrence in the conference opener.
