Riverdale, NY - After a tough non-conference tri-match against fantastic competition, the University of Mount Saint Vincent was back on the Sharp Center floor and went up against another formidable opponent, this time against John Jay College. The Dolphins had a hard time keeping up with the Bloodhounds, as they went on to lose in three sets by the scores of 25-15, 25-24, 25-14.
The Dolphins enter Skyline Conference play with an overall record of 6-8.
First year Dolphins
Sienna Martin,
Alyssa Padgett and
Stephanie Rodriguez continued to be the driving force behind the offense. Martin (seven) and Padgett (six) combined for 13 of the team's 22 kills while Rodriguez set up hitters all evening wit 13 assists. Junior captain
Olivia Dutzer added three kills and a pair of digs while co-captain
Jessica Broderick paced UMSV with seven digs.
The Dolphins impressed specifically in set two. Trailing 24-21, UMSV helped force the Bloodhounds into two attack errors before junior Carly Synder recorded her 17th service ace in 2025. The comeback attempt fell short, with John Jay recorded points in the next two rallies.
Next up for the Dolphins is conference play. They'll kick it off this coming Saturday on the road against Sarah Lawrence.
