Yonkers, NY - The University of Mount Saint Vincent continued their string of Skyline Conference contests on Saturday, this time in a 2024 Skyline Conference Tournament rematch with Sarah Lawrence College. The Dolphins were able to replicate their success from the playoffs a year ago, as they shut out the Gryphons and earned an impressive 3-0 road victory.
After their first two conference results, UMSV now sits at 4-1-2 through seven games.
The Dolphins put together a dominant performance against one of the premiere teams in the conference over the last number of seasons, both individually and collectively. Head coach
Jason Weisberg's 2025 recruiting class specifically shined, as newcomers accounted for all three goals and seven of the team's eight points.
Sophomore transfer
Aiyanna Robles Sedano continues to be a boost for the Dolphins offense. The speedy forward first helped her team when she assisted freshman
Kerrigyn Lynam for her first collegiate goal, with the strike breaking a 0-0 tie at the 37:19 mark. Robles Sedano carried her personal momentum into the second half when she scored her third strike of the season just 15 minutes into the half to give her team a two goal edge. Junior
Lily Ostiguy was credited for the helper, her second in the last three games.
Fellow first year
Michelle Zuniga would follow Lynam for her first career goal, and the unassisted shot put the game out of reach for good.
The Dolphins took two more shots than Sarah Lawrence in each half while controlling much of the pace over the 90 minutes of action. UMSV's defense was once again stout on the back line, as
Cameron Cruz,
Dana DeDominicis,
Maddie Halford and
Gisselle Soria limited the Gryphons to just two shots on net. Senior keeper
Javiera Sanchez recorded saves on both shot attempts.
The Dolphins return home for just the second time this season this coming Tuesday for a scheduled showdown with conference foe St. Joseph's University Brooklyn.
