Dolphins Win Fourth Straight In Five Set Thriller Over CCNY

Riverdale, NY - The University of Mount Saint Vincent continued their winning ways at home, this time putting together a strong, five set performance over a strong City College of New York team to make it four straight victorious. Freshman Anna Nolasco was the star of the show, registering a season-high 14 kills to help propel the team to victory.

The Dolphins are now an even .500 on the season with a 5-5 overall record, including three wins in three games inside the Sharp Center.

Nolasco wasn't the only standout in the win. Junior transfer Alyssa Padgett was dominant in front of the net, as she put together an nine-kill, seven-block performance in front of the net, good for a 17.5 point performance. So too was middle Dominique Otranto, who added eight kills and a pair of blocks as well.

Freshman setter Stephanie Rodriguez once again paced the Dolphins in assists, digs and service aces with 26, 18 and five, respectively. Nolasco also added 17 digs while liberos Jessica Broderick and Carly Snyder combined for 17 digs, four assists and three aces.

The Dolphins trailed 3-0 in the final set before Emma Contes helped get the team on the board with a service ace. Nolasco, Padgett and Sienna Martin each registered kills to bring the score to 31-11 before the Rye, New York native closed the game out with kills 13 and 14.

UMSV returns to Sharp on Tuesday to challenge Baruch.
