Riverdale, NY - The University of Mount Saint Vincent was back inside the Sharp Center on Wednesday evening with their sights set on extending their win streak to three when they challenged Medgar Evers College. The Dolphins succeeded in their mission, as the team put together a dominant three set performance to sweep the Cougars by the scores of 25-7, 25-9 and 25-15.
The victory improved UMSV's record to 4-5 on the year.
12 different Dolphins registered at least one kill in the contest. Freshman setter
Stephanie Rodriguez was once again all over the stat sheet, this time recording 20 assists, seven service aces and tied for the team lead with three kills. Alexandra Lyn-Caballero,
Sophia Mandalakis,
Sienna Martin and
Paige Staley each had three kills as well.
Junior captain Olivia Rodriguez made her presence felt with three digs, two service aces and two kills while freshman
Gabrielle Mills had four service aces of her own.
UMSV had a grand total of 34 aces as a team.
Adrianna Euell and
Earline Mercado-Ford made their collegiate debuts in the win, with both picking up a kill.
The Dolphins will be right back at it on Saturday in a local, non-conference showdown with CCNY.
