Samantha Aviles, who took the UMSV softball team by storm in 2025, was awarded the NCAA Division-III 'Toughest To Strike Out' Statistical Championship from this past season. Aviles, who started all 37 games at shortstop this season, did not strike out one time across 120 at-bats.
The Los Angeles, California native finished second in Skyline Conference Rookie of the Year voting after becoming arguably the top hitter on the Dolphins roster. Aviles slashed an impressive .400/.438/.508 in 2025 while providing 48 hits (including six doubles, two triples and a home run), 26 RBI and 23 runs scored while hitting atop the lineup.
