Westbury, NY - For the third consecutive season, the University of Mount Saint Vincent clinched a spot in the Skyline Conference playoffs, this year challenging Old Westbury on the road in the opening round. Unfortunately for the Dolphins, the regular season struggles against the Panthers continued into the postseason, as UMSV was shut out 7-0 to end their 2025 campaign.
The Dolphins offense struggled to get going all game long. Just three players reached base, with
Paige Goerman and
Simone Caruso registering hits while newly-named Second Team All-Skyline recipient
Samantha Aviles drew two walks.
Gracie Laukkanen who was also named Second Team All-Skyline, got the start for UMSV. The freshman completed her standout first year with the program with another strong start, allowing just one earned run with four strikeouts in four innings.
Savannah Autobee came in relief and allowed a pair of earned runs in two innings.
The end was not the result the team was looking for, but head coach
Kevin Carbon has the necessarily players in house to make yet another run at the Skyline crown in 2026.
