Dejesus, Aviles, Laukkanen Earn All Conference Honors

Riverdale, NY - Three Dolphins get their respect ahead of the playoffs.

The Skyline Conference announced their All-Conference teams on Tuesday afternoon and the University of Mount Saint Vincent's softball team was well represented. Aaliyah Dejesus earned a spot on the First Team, with the freshmen duo of Samantha Aviles and Gracie Laukkanen selected on the Second Team.

Dejesus wrapped up her senior season as one of the top overall talents in the Skyline. The senior ranked seventh among all qualified hitters with a .440 batting average over 109 at-bats while also sporting a .496 on-base percentage and .596 slugging percentage. Dejesus also finished with 48 total hits, including 10 doubles, two triples and a home run to go along with 22 RBI and 10 stolen bases in 12 tries. Dejesus wraps up her two-year career in Riverdale as a mainstay in center field, with 61 starts in 64 games played, hitting .401 over that span.

The first year talents in Aviles and Laukkanen will be cornerstones of the program after their tremendous first seasons with the Dolphins.

Aviles earned the starting shortstop job and rewarded head coach Kevin Carbon for his decision, as the Los Angeles native sported a .403/.433/.513 slash line in 36 starts. She also tied Dejesus with a team-high 48 hits this season. Laukkanen, meanwhile, developed into the team's ace over the course of the 2025 campaign. She made 15 starts in 2025 with an additional two appearances in relief and compiled a 2.69 ERA with 71 strikeouts compared to just 12 walks in 86 innings. Laukkanen had eight complete games while winning six games.

The Dolphins, who will be led by this trio, will face off against Old Westbury in the first round of the Skyline Conference Postseason Tournament on Wednesday night.
