Patchogue, NY - Just 24 hours after an impressive double header sweep over Maritime, the University of Mount Saint Vincent was back on the field, this time challenging St. Joseph's University Long Island in a two game set that was previously postponed due to rain. The Golden Eagles pitching staff did a strong job against a ferocious Dolphins offense, with UMSV losing both games by the scores of 2-1 and 6-2. The team is now 7-7 against the conference, good for sixth place in the standings.
Despite the end result,
Alex Alvarez was outstanding on the mound for the Dolphins. The Senior right hander only allowed two runs and two hits while putting up seven strikeouts in six innings pitched. The strikeout total pushed his season number to 49 in just 37 frames.
The Dolphins' one run of the game came in the fifth inning. Senior
