Riverdale, NY - The University of Mount Saint Vincent's men's volleyball team was back on their home floor on Monday evening with a chance to return to the win column against Sarah Lawrence College. The Gryphons, however, emerged victorius, walking away with a four set victory over the Dolphins, including winning sets two through four to close it out.
UMSV is now 3-14 against conference competition with an overall record of 5-21.
Despite the end result, the Dolphins saw three of their talents reach double figures in points. Fifth-year
James Rose was all over the court with a team-high 12 points, nine of which game as kills. He also added nine digs, three total blocks and a pair of service aces. Middles
Olatomiwa Ibitayo and
Yestro Luciano Jr. both impressed, adding 11.5 and 10 points, respectively. Ibitayo finished with a team-best 11 kills while Luciano Jr. recorded four block assists.
Graduate
Felix Paulino is officially on record watch. The fifth-year libero had eight digs in the game, tying him with Daniel Williams '07 for the most digs in program history. He'll have a chance to reach the honor on Wednesday in the regular season finale against St. Joseph's University Brooklyn. Paulino also set up his teammates in a major way, recording 31 assists on Monday as well.
UMSV will host senior day for their graduating class this coming Wednesday against the Bears. The action is set to kick off at 6 PM.
