Bronx, NY - The University of Mount Saint Vincent's baseball team have started up another win streak as they opened conference play on Sunday with two dominant wins over Yeshiva University. The Dolphins are now 11-3 overall and 2-0 in Skyline action.
UMSV showcased their strengths in an impressive 19-1 victory over the Maccabees in game one that saw pitcher
Alex Alvarez receive the win. The senior from Redding, California matched his career-high with 10 strikeouts.
The Dolphins immediately set the tone, jumping to an early lead putting up a season-high 11 runs in the first inning. Junior
Will Granata got things going with a single to right field to drive in senior
Dom Porto. Senior
Conor Martin then hit a double to center field to send Granata home. UMSV continued to connect, stringing together hits and driving in runs, but it was Granata who would cap off the first inning with a home run to right field.
Another dominant inning in the sixth saw seven runs from the Dolphins. Junior
Tyler Margolis got the momentum going, singling to left field and later scoring off a single from sophomore
Andrew Farina. Sophomore
Brendan Meaney then hit a two-run double, which was followed by two more key hits, a two-run single from sophomore
Joe Reid and a double from senior
Paul Constantino.
The Dolphins put up an impressive 16 hits and 19 RBIs. Granata and graduate student
Joey DiNorcia paced UMSV with two hits each. Granata also led in RBIs with 4, while Martin finished with three.
The Dolphins picked up right where they left off, winning game two 12-0. UMSV once again was on the board by the first inning as junior
Joshua McCormick sent in a run with a single and later scored himself off a hit from DiNorcia.
The Dolphins went on to score six more runs in the second, with McCormick yet again being the one to get things going. Graduate student

Pablo Austin would all go on to record hits, meanwhile junior
John Anthony Spanoudakis capped things off with a double to center field. UMSV would drive in four more runs in the third, putting the game out of the Maccabees' reach.
The Dolphins put up 9 hits and 11 RBIs, with Austin and sophomore
Wanser Ramos leading with 2 hits each. Austin also paced UMSV with 3 RBIs, meanwhile freshman pitcher
Joseph Santos received his third win from the mound this season.
The Dolphins will look to extend their winning streak to five as they take on Mount Saint Mary College on Saturday, March 29.Â
